Молдовският корабът „Лейди Еф” е арестуван в бургаското пристанище, съобщи 
изпълнителният директор на „Морска администрация” - Бургас капитан Живко Петров, предаде Агенция „Фокус”. Корабът е задържан след решение на съда заради непогасени плащания към фирма „Бургас Таг сървиз” ООД - Бургас, чийто влекач "Мултратаг" довлече на буксир бедстващия молдовски кораб до пристанище Бурас. Акцията по спасяването на потъващия кораб и 12-членния екипаж бе извършена на 28 август. Оттогава досега корабът и моряците от сирийско-египетския екипаж са в пристанище Бургас, но от фирмата корабособственик не са платили за спасителната операция. Мениджърът на фирма „Бургас Таг сървиз" ООД Димитър Пенджуров каза, че в момента капитанът и корабособственикът отказват да признаят, че е имало спасителна акция и че корабът е бил в опасност. ”Това е обичайна практика, като по този начин се опитват да разберат каква сума ще искаме за спасителната операция. В момента нашите специалисти все още правят калкулация, но обикновено в такива случаи за спасителната операция се взема процент от стойността на кораба и товара. Нашите юристи след проверка в Лондон разбраха, че корабът дори не е застрахован и това е една от причините корабособственикът да се опита да отрече спасителната операция", каза Пенджуров. 

В момента от „Бургас Таг сървиз” започват преговори с корабособственика, който е регистриран в Панама. Обикновено самият корабособственик не може да бъде открит, тъй като за кореспонденция се дава някаква пощенска кутия. Ако корабособственикът откаже да даде информация за стойността на кораба и товара, ще се търси лицензиран оценител, който да направи това. Обикновено разрешаването на подобни случаи отнема от няколко месеца до година. Напълно е възможно екипажът на спасения кораб да отпразнува в Бургас Новата година.

'Pirate Alley' Author to Speak at NPC

The event will usher in the launching of Piracy Daily which, together with the already-published Piracy Daily Bulletin, is meant to provide critical understanding of a centuries-old (and the first-recognized) international crime against humanity—maritime piracy, a well-known but frequently misunderstood illegal activity that just late last year was elevated for full consideration by UN Security Council.

Maritime piracy is of major concern to the international community as it affects several of the most important world trade routes, with huge financial and other implications for business, global security and the basic rights of law-abiding peoples everywhere.

The event will be held next Tuesday, 8, January from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the National Press Club's Murrow Room. A one-hour discussion by RADM (ret.) McKnight, the first commander of multinational Task Force 151 off the coast of Somalia, and three other well-known maritime security experts will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer period.

The inaugural conference, "Maritime Security: Today's Victories and Tomorrow's Challenges," will have as its keynote speaker Rear Admiral Terry McKnight , USN (Ret.), author of Pirate Alley: Commanding Task Force 151 off Somalia.
