THE OPPORTUNITY:




The Field Operator will be responsible for monitoring the unit, initiating maintenance work requests, sampling product streams per schedule and preparing equipment for maintenance as required.
***This is a contract position with the potential to become permanent. The successful candidate will preferably reside in Bonanza, Silvervalley, Spirit River, Dawson Creek or surrounding area.***



HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Ensure safe operations, including hazard identification, equipment lock-out and emergency response
• Identify and implement opportunities to increase production through optimization of wells, gathering systems and facilities
• Identify, monitor and optimize gas and oil wells for BHP efficiency or liquid loading.
• Work closely with landowners and promptly address any concerns
• Start up or shut down of oil and gas wells, facilities and equipment
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulatory requirements and take corrective action as required
• Maintain effective communications with operations, maintenance, construction, engineering and management staff
• Complete daily production accounting, inputting and balancing of data using PVR or Fieldview
• Ongoing performance improvement including job progression and training (site-specific, process, and competencies training)



QUALIFICATIONS:


• Typically 2+ years of related industry experience with Grade 12 or GED
• 4th class Boilers Branch power engineering certificate and/or a GPO ABC and/or a PFO A,B,C or D
• Valid Class 5 Alberta / British Columbia Vehicle Driver’s License
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Gas compression, emulsion separation, field oil pumping units, plunger lifts and reservoir support water flood
   o Well operating and start-up
   o SCADA and PVR systems used to collect and report production
   o Well reviews for optimization while working with the team

THE OPPORTUNITY:



We currently have opportunities for field operators working in our Heavy Oil area which would require residency in the Bonnyville, Elk Point, Vermillion, Lloydminster or Cold Lake area while on shift.



HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Work a 10 hour shift rotation, 8 days on and 6 days off
• Start up and shut down of all well site equipment without supervision while ensuring you follow company safety policies and procedures
• Analyze production and cost data and make appropriate decisions or recommendations for optimization
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform minor repairs and servicing
• Monitor and implement cost reduction ideas
• Maintain all regulatory safety certifications
• Foster a positive and productive work atmosphere



QUALIFICATIONS:


• Typically 3+ years of industry experience with Grade 12 or GED and a class 5 driver’s license
• Highly motivated, self managed and have the ability to take on new tasks or assignments and get things done right the first time
• Working knowledge of safety policies and goals

THE OPPORTUNITY:


Our Horizon Oil Sands operation is expanding with project spending for 2012 forecasted at approximately $1.55 billion with future projected spending of approximately $2 - 2.5 billion each year for the next several years.
The Field Operator will contribute to the successful operation and maintenance of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants by performing tasks to optimize both processes and process equipment..



HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

• Learn the unit layout, purpose and operating parameters of the assigned systems
• Operate and monitor process equipment
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of process equipment
• Perform process sampling and laboratory testing and interpret results
• Troubleshoot and diagnose upsets and problems
• Maintain monthly and yearly plant operating records
• Participate in Team Safety Meetings and follow up on assigned items
• Utilize and further develop Training Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures



QUALIFICATIONS:


• Typically 3+ years of related industry experience with High School Diploma or GED
• Alberta Level II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate
• Alberta Level II Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification will be considered an asset
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Working in the Water and Wastewater Treatment area of a large plant
   o Treated and Raw Water Systems including Pumphouses and Heat Exchangers
