THE OPPORTUNITY: The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will be an essential source of expertise, providing technical guidance and support to ongoing operations and sustaining capital projects within our Thermal In-Situ business. This position will hold accountability for design, construction, maintenance, and operation of facilities instrumentation and controls equipment. This is a hands-on role which provides autonomy and the opportunity to have a direct influence on production, efficiency, and project costs. HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK? • Contribute to the overall success of Canadian Natural’s Thermal operations through interaction with a cross functional team including Maintenance, Operations, Projects, and other engineering disciplines • Provide oversight for contractors and assist in the development of engineering deliverables (Scoping, EDS, and Detailed Engineering), ensuring work is on time and on budget • Ensure all applicable instrumentation and controls standards, specifications and regulations are met and make recommendations for best practices • Build supervisory skills by coordinating the efforts of the contractors in their area of specialty and ensuring the contractors diligently perform all obligations (quality, schedule and cost) • Participate in and contribute to all aspects and phases of projects from bid package preparation to bid evaluation, design, construction, and troubleshooting • Ensure instrumentation and controls maintenance and reliability requirements have been addressed for repairs, plant changes, and major equipment purchases • Initiate plant equipment replacement, improvement, and modification projects • Develop and review project design standards and specifications; equipment data sheets, and control narratives • Oversee the instrumentation and controls portion of sustaining capital projects and Management of Change initiatives including budget preparation, design, and implementation QUALIFICATIONS: • Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with an Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications • Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA • Familiarity with and understanding of:    o Thermal in-situ (SAGD or CSS) an asset    o Provincial, national, and international standards, particularly HSE, ISA, and CSA standards HEALTH AND SAFETY: At Canadian Natural, safety is a core value. Tax Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY: The Tax Analyst will support Canadian Natural’s tax compliance, research and advisory work.  The primary role is to manage the tax audits and appeals process, assist in the preparation of quarterly tax provisions and the completion of corporate tax returns. Joint Venture Representative

THE OPPORTUNITY: The Joint Venture Representative will use an in-depth understanding of Joint Venture concepts to provide assistance in making technical recommendations in response to Joint Venture proposals. The role will provide an opportunity to utilize and strengthen skills in economics, negotiation, business policy and corporate procedure. HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK? • Act as the Canadian Natural chairman for the Operating Committee for operated properties within a defined area and representative of the Operating Committee for non-operated properties • Utilize knowledge of Joint Venture concepts:    o fee structures    o service agreements    o construction, ownership and operation agreements    o unit agreements to provide informed technical recommendations on Joint Venture proposals • Oversee joint ventures in the assigned area including operating/processing/disposal agreements which produce approximately 60,000 BOED (Barrels of Oil Equivalent per Day) • Complete purchase/sale documents and finalize transactions on the sale or acquisition of facilities • Coordinate and negotiate tie ins for Canadian Natural and for third party tie ins to Canadian Natural facilities • Respond to Associate queries and resolve any disputes • Resolve audit queries as they arise • Responsible for developing and coaching the Agreement Analyst for the assigned area; • Act as a liaison between Operations and Accounting:    o ensure that budgeting is properly set up, completed in a timely fashion, communicated for approval as required    o stewardship reports provided quarterly to the field    o ensure that production accounting and cost allocations are set up properly so as to minimize audit exceptions • Review all pending acquisitions/divestments to ensure all joint venture agreements and facility interests are identified correctly and assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Typically 10+ years of related industry experience with post secondary training (ideally in Engineering, Accounting or Land) • Familiarity with and understanding of:    o applying Joint Venture concepts to routine business situations and problems    o negotiation and contract development    o word-processing and spreadsheet applications    o QByte HEALTH AND SAFETY: At Canadian Natural, safety is a core value.
