Princess Cruises offers exciting career opportunities in a variety of onboard departments. All crewmembers in all positions onboard must be the Consummate Host, both to our passengers and to their colleagues.

Please see below department descriptions for additional information regarding the onboard department and job requirements. Please note that all positions are entry level as Princess Cruises promotes from within.

Departments and positions listed below are recruited from our office in Santa Clarita, California. Please refer to “International Recruitment” for additional information on how to apply.

Boutiques

Sales Associate

Princess Cruises Boutiques offer our passengers unique gifts to create lasting memories of their cruise experience. Our Boutiques carry a wide variety of merchandise including fine jewelry, designer and contemporary watches, fine fragrances, cosmetics, accessories like jewelry, sunglasses, and handbags, liquor, fine gifts in porcelain and crystal, men’s and women’s apparel, and unique gifts and souvenirs specific to the Princess experience. Also, the Tax Duty Free onboard shopping environment offers an excellent savings compared to shore pricing.

Onboard Sales Associates specialize in providing superior customer service to help our passengers find exactly what they are looking for in the Boutiques. Candidates for the position must have a minimum of two years experience in retail sales and visual merchandising. It is preferred that candidates have specialized experience in apparel, fine jewelry, watches, cosmetics, or fine gifts comparable to the merchandise lines carried onboard. Successful applicants must demonstrate excellent sales and customer service skills along with the ability to perform inventory and stockroom duties.

Pursers Department - Front Desk

Junior Assistant Pursers

The Pursers department is the center of Hotel operation onboard all Princess vessels. The department is responsible for the management of hotel accounts, shore excursions, and shipboard personnel operations including the crew office. It is a dynamic department with a wide variety of roles and career opportunities.

The entry position in the Pursers department is the Junior Assistant Purser. This position offers excellent career development and promotion opportunities in hotel management. Candidates must have at least two years experience in the hotel/hospitality industry performing junior management duties, specifically front desk responsibilities for a large hotel. Candidates must also be computer literate, have experience with large volume cash handling, possess mathematical and analytical skills, and excellent customer service skills. Secretarial skills and foreign language fluency are also preferred.

Photography and Videography

Staff Photographers Videographers

Onboard photography is primarily centered on portrait and event photography, using both natural locations and onboard studio setups with backdrops and studio lighting. Our videographers produce a souvenir DVD documenting the cruise experience from beginning to end, showing both onboard entertainment and the port tours and destinations. The work is fast-paced, high volume, and high-quality. Attention to detail, teamwork and outstanding customer service are the most important elements of this job. You will be shooting photos and videos both ashore and on the ship, processing photos and editing video footage, selling the finished products and other retail items, and providing top-quality customer service to our passengers.

Photography candidates must have a minimum of one year of photography work experience OR two years of formal photography training. Strong computer skills and digital photography experience are preferred. We provide all digital equipment and a state-of-the-art onboard lab for use during work hours. Retail sales or customer service experience is also preferred.

Videography candidates must have a minimum of one year of videography work experience OR two years of formal video production training. Strong shooting and editing skills are required. We provide all video and editing equipment onboard. Sales and customer service experience is preferred.

Entertainment and Passenger Programs

The Entertainment and Passenger Programs department really makes a mark on the passenger experience. We offer everything from lavish production shows to organized activities and games shows. Additionally we require high quality entertainers, accomplished musicians, production technicians, energetic cruise staff and informative lecturers to travel the world and entertain our passengers. Information Technology

Computer Officer

The Computer Officer is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and support of all onboard computer systems, servers, networks, POS terminals, and peripherals, ensuring the systems perform at optimum levels. This consists primarily of level 1 and 2 support as well as system monitoring and troubleshooting. The Computer Officer is supported by the shoreside IT group.

Candidates for the Computer Officer position will have an AA or higher in Computer Science, MIS and at least two years of related experience, specifically in areas of user support. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of computer systems including but not limited to Unix, MS Office, Windows XP/7, Server 2003 – 2008, as well as experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software applications. Excellent written, verbal and communication skills are required, with management experience strongly preferred.

Medical Officers

Paramedic

Princess Cruises is seeking nationally registered paramedics to work aboard our cruise ships as a part of our highly qualified medical team.

Being a paramedic with Princess Cruises offers you the ability and the opportunity to travel the world, enhance your skills and work alongside experienced nurses and doctors. Princess Cruises maintains  well-equipped medical centers onboard which include critical care areas, x-ray, lab, and pharmacy. Our paramedic staff plays a crucial role in these processes as the first line of care. You will have the opportunity to respond to emergency scenes, treat the sick and injured and then continue that care in our medical center as part of the highly trained team. Assignments onboard are 4 months in duration, visiting numerous ports of call on a variety of worldwide itineraries.

At this time we are considering candidates who have at least 2 years of paramedic experience and current professional certifications.
